Eduardo del Llano
Eduardo del Llano was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1962. A well-known writer, script writer, film director and actor, del Llano has studied Art History at the University of Havana. His novels include: Los doce apóstatas (Editorial Letras Cubanas, 1994, Cuba); Obstáculo (Editorial Letras Cubanas, 1997, Cuba); and Tres (colección La Novela, Editorial Letras Cubanas, 2002, Cuba) - later published in Austria, Spain and Columbia. Among other prizes, he was awarded the Italo Calvino Prize 1996. As a film director he is well known for his series of short films called Cuentos of Nicanor, which are often based on his own short stories. Both his writing and his films are renowned for their subtle sense of humour, and a literary register that swings effortlessly between the highly cultivated to the highly colloquial. He is the founder and director of the creative writing group, NOS-Y-OTROs.
