Marcelo Moutinho
Marcelo Moutinho was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1972. A writer and journalist, he holds a postgraduate degree in Communication (PUC-Rio), and is the author of the books A Palavra Ausente / The Absent Word (Rocco, 2011); Somos Todos Iguais Nesta Noite / Tonight we are All the Same (Rocco, 2006); Memória dos Barcos / Memories of Boats (Letras, 2001) and the children’s book A Menina que Perdeu as Cores / The Girl who Lost her Colours (Pallas, 2013). He has also edited anthologies including Dicionário Amoroso da Língua Portuguesa /Amorous Dictionary of the Portuguese Language (Casa da Palavra, 2009) – for which he gathered 35 writers from four continents – and had his work included in several others. His articles and short fiction are published in magazines and he is the curator of important events on the literary scene. As well as writing a weekly column for the online magazine Vida Breve, his work as a freelance critic and journalist appears regularly in several newspapers, including O Globo.
